The Happiest Place On Earth
So. This is sort of an odd post. My Grandmother passed away on Saturday. There is so much to the story that I can't even begin to explain. That will surely be another story. But I digress. My family and I are heading to Disneyworld . this week. I'm torn for many reasons. My heart breaks for my mother and her brother. For their loss. This life is so hard. It makes me sad. And then, I think about the happiest place on earth. And I think about my children. They are too young to have to learn about the troubles and challenges of our world. For now, we will take them to the happiest place on earth. And we will pretend that everything is alright. And for a short while, it will be. The happiest place on earth. For now.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm sure she'd have wanted your kids to have a good time at Disneyworld though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words.
DeleteI think you'll have a good time. Your mind will surely wander back to your grandmother from time to time, and you may feel guilty for having fun, but I hope you don't. Kellie's right, of course she would want you all to have a good time. You could get her a souvenir...
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It was just what we needed.
DeleteEnjoy your family fun, I'm also sure that your grandmother would want you to!
ReplyDeleteThank you, hun. ;-)
DeleteI am sorry to hear about your grandmother. Have a "Magical" trip to Disney. We are going a week from tomorrow. Yippee
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
DeleteI'm so sorry that you're hurting. Surround yourself with fun, hugs and love to help get through this difficult time. xoxox
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tracy. It certainly helps to have wonderful friends like you.
DeleteIt's the happiest place on earth for a reason, to escape your troubles and hurts. I'm so sad for your loss. Last year when I had to go home to see, then bury my father, The King went on a road trip with the kids to The Happiest Place on Earth and it really was a good distraction for them forgetting for a while they lost their PA. Try to have a fun time with your kids. Grandma would like that :)
ReplyDeleteLove to you..
:-( So sorry. I think it was just what we needed.
DeleteI hope you are able to shed your sorrow for just a few days...so sorry for what you must be going through
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear.
DeleteThis is one of the hardest parts about being a grown up. You have to put your own pain aside and put on a good face for the kids. It stinks. We all do it. Sometimes it helps.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. She'd be happy to know that you kept living and brought joy to your children's lives by taking them to Disney. I doubt she would want you to be sad. If anything, cling to that! xoxox
Thank you for your wisdom and sympathy. You're right. <3
DeleteI think it's wonderful that you were able to laugh a little in the Happiest Place on Earth. I already know you had a great time :) So sorry for your loss. I'll send happy thoughts your way...
