I have a specific morning routine. Because I like routines. I start the vehicle for Desi at exactly 7:30 AM every morning. He brings the girls to school and I hate putting them in a cold car, so I always warm it up. I also hate getting into a cold car so I start it at 4:00 every afternoon before I pick up Thing 1 from school.
It was really fricking frigid here this week. As in -12 degrees not counting the windchill.
This is the time of year when you find out if your car battery needs to be replaced.
Hey Desi, the truck won't start and its 7:34! I can't start my day like this!
Desi: It must be the battery. Probably should have replaced it before winter.
Grrr. So. What are YOU going to do? The truck is parked behind the van and I can't get the van out unless I drive it through the bushes again. Only I can't do that because the snow bank is in the way.
Desi: Can you hook the battery charger up to the truck while I finish getting ready???
Uh. Why not. All of those years in college in the frozen tundra taught me a few useful things like that.
Later that week:
Desi: Did the truck start alright today?
Yep. It fired right up when I went to pick up Thing 1. Oh, I did leave it running for 6 hours so that probably helped.
Desi: You're kidding, right?
Nope. I started it when you left for work at 7:30. Then at about 2:30, I walked past the window and heard a weird noise.
Desi: What was it?
It was the TRUCK. Like I said. Oh. And you might need gas.
